For one day, the South Block turns into a Kuires X Gazino with Arabesk music, video installations, dance and spoken word performances and Turkish delicacies.
Arabesk music originated in Turkey from a combination of Turkish folk music, Arabic elements and Western pop music and became popular with the labor migration in the 60s. The content is often about heteronormative love, which this event opposes and celebrates LGBTQI*+ artists*. Arabesk Music brings together diverse communities where men are allowed to cry, trans artists are accepted, and emotions can be processed together.
You can expect an unforgettable evening of creativity and diversity where all feelings are welcome! Melancholic texts about heartbreak, longings and worries will be combined with music, video installations, film clips with queer content and performances.
Turkish culinary mezes (appetizers) and raki will be served.
Registration is not required.
