From Charlottenburg to Friedrichshain and Hohenschönhausen, the Kultursommerfestival Berlin 2023 will get underway with simultaneous concerts
at unusual venues all over the city. Featuring jazz, swing, electro, classical music, breakdance, pop and soul.

At Walter-Benjamin-Platz, pianist Sebastian Knauer and actress Martina Gedeck (recitation) create a unique composition with "AMERICAN DREAM - ERINNERUNGEN AN GEORGE GERSHWIN".

Martina Gedeck, one of the best-known and most successful German actresses, tells the exciting life story of George Gershwin in the role of George's sister Frances, based on authentic testimonies from friends and companions: his meteoric rise from scrappy street urchin from New York's Eastside to celebrated Broadway star is like a successful Hollywood screenplay. Gershwin's grandiose compositions are interpreted by one of Germany's exceptional pianists, Sebastian Knauer. Among others, the solo piano version of the "Rhapsody in Blue".
