Kino Projekt is a traveling film theater that transforms very different places into a temporary cinema, showing artistic video works and amateur films on Super8 & 16mm. After an in-depth research of the local cinema history, especially the movie theaters that closed, the project takes the name of a former cinema. For a few nights, the cinema of our choice is revived in a different place in the public space. In this special edition, Cinema Al-Amir is relocated from Aleppo, Syria, to Berlin. In 2011 we traveled to Aleppo to prepare the cinema project, which due to the outbreak of the Syrian civil war could not be realized on site until today - ten years later. The cinema Al-Amir will show films on three evenings in the form of a drive-in cinema in the courtyard of the Hopscotch Reading Room in Berlin Schöneberg. Come by car or on foot, bring your radio - turn it on, sit back and enjoy the films.
